Double World Series of Poker bracelet winner Shaun Deeb had to find a new place to play this week after being told he wasn't getting a seat at the highstakes game running alongside the Circuit stop in Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, and he won't be returning anytime soon if his tweet yesterday is anything to go by…
Explaining that:
‘Basic summery (sic) of the story is poker room manager tells me high stakes game is public I try to sit an (sic) told I am not allowed to play guess he doesn't understand what public means'…
…Deeb can now add the Florida cardroom to whichever casino pissed him off previously, rumours that it was the Rivers Casino in Schenectady where he was apparently accused of ‘going north' last year never really being substantiated or denied.
In any event, Deeb enjoys a good poker rumble and it wasn't long before another of poker's mouthiest pros was on his case, Mike ‘The Mouth' Matusow having a pop at the 4-time WCOOP champ…
Freddy Deeb
To clarify matters somewhat, one of the Seminole Hard Rock ambassadors explained to Deeb that the casino itself wasn't behind the ‘no seat for Deeb' decision…
Deeb is hardly new to drama in the poker world, and regular readers may recall last year's Poker Night in America shitfest featuring Deeb, Doug Polk, Brandon Cantu and the seriously-disturbed Salomon ‘hashtagking' Ponte among others, Deeb somehow surviving Ponte's nasty verbal assault on him, his wife and everything inbetween….
…but Deeb isn't exactly the good guy in among all the heated exchanges which have gone public…
Quite what Deeb had done to find himself blocked out of the ‘public' highstakes game is unclear, but it's not unusual for such things to happen.
2012 WSOP Main Event winner Greg Merson found himself locked out of Bobby's Game at the Aria, taking to Twitter in 2016 to call out Jean Robert Bellande and the casino in no uncertain terms…
…rumours circulating that Bellande had Merson kicked off the table to make room for a ‘deep-pocketed fish' or simply hadn't let him play to begin with, as reported at the time by PokerTube.

On Sunday night, Four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Shaun Deeb tweeted that he is currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Deeb recently visited Mexico as he participated in PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).
WCOOP legend Deeb was looking to claim his ninth record leveling title but failed to do so. He exited the tournament at 7th place, earning just $28,596 for his efforts rather than the moment of online poker history that he surely craved.
So I've been keeping this quiet last week and a half but I have COVID now and I think I'm going to need your guys help making a tweet or two go viral so I don't have to get hospitalized in Mexico

For many this global pandemic has brought significant changes in people's life. Deeb is one of the more prominent members of the poker community to be diagnosed with COVID-19, a disease that has so far been detected in 31.2 million people worldwide, including 5.56 million in India. Many believe the actual number of infected to be much higher due to undetected cases.
Deeb had kept the news regarding his health status for a week and a half. Since the announcement, he has been posting regular updates on his twitter handle. He did note that he was having connection issues joining WCOOP events, with PokerStars displaying a message that he could not play real money gaming from his location.
At the time of being admitted into the hospital, Deeb had made multiple Day 2s in upcoming WCOOP events. 'I will say this wcoop grind while sick was on a whole nother level for me I may lost a chunk but I played the best at like 10% Strength sleeping during every 5m break everyday.'

You not really a #wcoop grinder if you're not one handed 10 tabling on touch pad in a Mexican hospital with covid

Deeb appears to be in good spirits, even making light of the situation he finds himself in. Though he is hospitalised, it has not affected his ability to play, 'You not really a #wcoop grinder if you're not one handed 10 tabling on touch pad in a Mexican hospital with covid'.
We hope for a quick recovery and looking forward to see him at the felts soon. For more updates about the poker industry, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com
